Setting clear store policies for your listings helps build trust with buyers and creates a smoother experience for everyone.
How to update your policies
- Go to your Marketplace Admin area.
-
Select Settings.
-
Click on the Store Policies tab.
-
Under Returns & Exchanges, choose whether you want to:
-
Accept returns (buyer changes their mind, doesn't want the item, etc.)
-
Accept exchanges (buyer would like a different item from your store instead)
-
Set the window for initiating a return or exchange: 7, 14, or 30 days after delivery
-
Your choices will apply to all of your listings. Right now, policies can't be set on a per-item basis.
Discretionary vs. required returns
The settings here apply to discretionary returns and exchanges. You can decide how flexible you want to be, but keep in mind:
-
In cases where an item is not as described, arrives damaged, or another issue is covered by site policy, you may still be required to accept a return or issue a refund.
-
Your discretionary policies don't override these requirements.
Where buyers see your policies
Your return and exchange settings are displayed on every listing page and on your profile, so buyers know what to expect before they place an order.
If you'd like to add more detail such as exceptions, shipping notes, or other store-wide rules, you can use the Description field in your General settings area.
