The Dead Format Marketplace thrives on trust between collectors. We require original photos of the actual vinyl records you're selling, therefore stock photos or generic images are not permitted.
Collectors care deeply about specific pressings and accurate condition grading. Clear, honest photos will help build your reputation in our community and lead to smoother transactions with fewer disputes, so be sure to take advantage of the 10 photo limit per listing.
Photo requirements
When creating listings, your photos should clearly show:
- The record sleeve/cover (front and back)
- The vinyl itself to document its condition
- Any included inserts, posters, or bonus items
- Notable defects or wear on both sleeve and vinyl
Best practices
- Use good lighting to capture true colors and details
- Include close-ups of any flaws or notable wear
- Show identifying pressing information when relevant (runout etchings, matrix numbers, colored vinyl)
- Take multiple angles of both the sleeve and vinyl
