We've designed our shipping system to be straightforward and hassle-free, with built-in tools to make the entire process as simple as possible.
Using Dead Format's built-in shipping tools (recommended)
Our integrated shipping tools connect directly with USPS to offer discounted rates and automatic tracking without having to leave the site or setup any other accounts. The shipping label page in your admin allows you to enter in the size and weight of the package you're sending, view and edit the shipping address, and then confirm the shipping method you want to use.
- Open the order details from your Listings page
- Click the Create shipping label button
- Enter in the package's weight and dimensions
- Select your preferred carrier and service
- Purchase the label using the funds from your connected Stripe account
- Print the shipping label on your printer
The order status is updated and tracking information is emailed to the buyer. From here you can either drop off your order at the post office or schedule a free pickup through USPS.
Using your own shipping method
If you prefer to handle shipping yourself:
- Open the order details from your Listings page
- Click the Mark as shipped button
- Enter in the tracking number and shipping service used
- Click Save to update the order
We'll import all of the tracking details based on the carrier information you provided, and send tracking information to the buyer. Just like when using the built-in shipping tools, payment for the order will held until the carrier confirms that they've received the package and it's in transit.
Label Issues or Changes
Made a mistake or need to change something? No problem, labels purchased with our shipping tools can be voided and are eligible for a refund as long as they haven't been scanned.
To void a label simply click the Void label button on the admin order details page.
After voiding, you can create a new label if needed. Refunds for voided labels are typically processed within 7-15 business days.
