It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the right to upload and share the image. Dead Format reserves the right to remove any image that violates copyright laws or our terms of service. General Guidelines
- All images should be clear, well-lit, and in focus.
- Do not upload images with watermarks, timestamps, or borders.
- Avoid images with explicit content unless it's part of the official artwork.
- Avoid low-quality images (blurry, too dark, or too small)
- Refrain from heavily edited or filtered images that misrepresent the actual subject of the image
- When in doubt about the legality or appropriateness of an image, it's better not to upload it
- Remember, the goal is to provide clear, accurate, and comprehensive visual information about artists, labels, and releases. Your contributions help maintain the quality and reliability of our database.
Artist Images - Minimum size: 200x200 pixels
- Should be representative of the band or artist
- Preferably a professional photo or widely recognized image of the artist
- For bands, try to include all current members if possible
Label Images
- Minimum size: 200x200 pixels
- Should be the official logo of the label whenever possible
- If no logo is available, use an image that best represents the label
Release Photos - Resolution: As high as possible (minimum 600x600 pixels recommended)
- Avoid including personal items or backgrounds in release photos
- Primary photo should be the one that shows at least the front cover of the release as a primary focus, including any/all of one of the record(s) is acceptable as well.
- Additional images can include the back cover, gatefold spreads, labels, inserts/booklets, special packaging. There is no limit on the number of images that can be uploaded for a release, as long as they are relevant.
