The collections feature on Dead Format works a little differently compared to other places you might be familiar with – here, you have full control over how your collection is displayed. Name items however you want, group them into any category you want, and upload your own photos!
Adding items
Every item that you add to your collection (or want list) needs to belong to a category. Most users like to create categories like 7", 12" etc -- but you can choose to name them however you want.
To add a category, first head to the Collection Settings > Categories page. If you have more than one category added you can drag them up/down and rearrange them into the order you'd like them displayed on your page.
Once you have at least one category then you're all set to add items. Visit your Collection page and click the + Add Items button to view the Add Items dialog. From there you can select a section, category, and enter in the items.
Once items are added you can upload your own photo, or if you're subscribed to Dead Format Pro, you can upload up to 10 per item.
Editing items
To edit an item, hover over the item you'd like to change, click the 3-dot menu, and select Edit item from the dropdown menu.
Adding photos
To add photos to an item, click the record icon to the left of the item name. An area will appear underneath that you can either drag and drop an image file into, or click the area to select an image from your device. Items are limited to 1 photo, or if you upgrade to Dead Format Pro, you can have up to 10 photos per item.
Changing categories
To move an item to a new category, hover over the item you'd like to change, click the 3-dot menu, and select Change category from the dropdown menu.
Adding a private note
You can add private notes to each item in your collection - perfect for keeping track of any personal details you'd like to keep private. To add a private note to an item, hover over the item you'd like to change, click the 3-dot menu, and select Add private note from the dropdown menu.
